Sourcing Soybeans
Ilera sources locally soybeans given that it is a well suited crop in Nigeria due to its climate and pest and disease tolerance. The crop generates good quality and high yielding seeds in the country.
Furthermore, Nigeria is one of the few countries in the region that only allows the farming of non-GMO.
By purchasing locally Ilera is boosting the local economy and in turn generates more interest amongst farmers to grow soybeans.
This goes inline with the government initiatives to promote the industry.
Soybean Oil
Ilera currently sells premium soybean oil to refineries locally and internationally as it is able to provide high quality products at competitive prices.
The product’s end use is mainly for food application such as frying and baking as well as a condiment for meals.
Soybean Meal
Ilera currently produces and sells high quality soybean meal. Its main clients are animal feed factories as well as livestock farms and poultry farms that require protein supplements in their feed.
The Nigerian government is also implementing strategies to promote livestock farmers which will increase demand for such product.
The company exports the product regionally as well given the requirements of the neighbouring countries for animal feed.
